From a design perspective, MI 5 appear quite good due to its curved 3D glass back, and metal frame on the both side and this smartphone remain to be quite thin and light which are its major positive features when considering the design aspect. The beta version of MIUI 7 on Android 6 is quite prone to bugs. Its fingerprint scanner is not that responsive. The interface doesn’t provide support to features like Google Now on Tap, Doze Mode for improved battery life along with privacy features. All of the apps get permissions automatically, and there is no pop-up which asks the user if they wish to grant the access or not.

Its 16 MP camera provides impressive results in daylight and well-lit rooms. However, its quality is dull when it comes to low-light areas. It’s selfie camera is above the mark, but it could have been better. Still, it does provide good results.

When it comes to performance, the Mi 5 is quite capable of handling user’s daily requirements. When watching videos, playing games, browsing the web, this mobile provides great results.

The call quality is among the best in the class. Its battery tests revealed that it can last up to 12 hours. The standby time of this smartphone is also impressive. It does heat up in few cases which can be a big turn-off for any user.
